Privacy Policy

Data We Collect

When you use dropreceipts, we collect the following data linked to your account:

Account Information

• Email address: Used for authentication and account identification
• User ID: A unique identifier for your account

Session Activity (Desktop)

During active work sessions on desktop, we track:

• Keystroke count: The number of keys pressed (we never record what you type—only the count)
• Click count: Number of mouse clicks and directional pattern of mouse movement
• Mouse distance: Total distance your mouse traveled in meters
• Session duration: Start time and length of session
• Active application: Name of applications in focus (Chrome, Spotify etc)

This data is only collected while a session is actively running. We do not monitor your activity in the background.

Claude Code Sessions

If you use Claude Code integration, we track:

• Message count: Number of messages exchanged
• Session count: Number of Claude sessions
• Tool call count: Number of tool invocations

We never collect the content of your conversations or code—only aggregate counts.

GitHub Activity (optional)

If you enable GitHub integration, we fetch metadata:

• Commit count: Number of commits
• Pull requests: Number opened and merged
• Issues closed: Count of closed issues
• Lines changed: Lines added and deleted
• Repository names: Which repos you contributed to

We access only activity via the GitHub API. We do not access code content.

Health & Fitness Data

• Workout data: Type, duration, calories burned, distance
• Health metrics: Heart rate, cadence, pace, elevation (when available from HealthKit)
• GPS routes: Location coordinates for mapping your workouts

Tasks

• Task content: Task titles, descriptions, and due dates
• Projects and labels: Organizational categories you create
• Completion status: Whether tasks are done and when

Location Data

We collect precise location data (GPS coordinates) only when you use workout tracking. This data is used to display your workout route on a map and calculate distance traveled. Location data is stored on our servers as part of your workout session. We do not track your location at any other time.

Photos & Media

Photos you select for receipt backgrounds stay on your device. We do not upload, store, or access your photos on our servers. When you share a receipt, it's shared directly from your device to your chosen destination.

Apple HealthKit

With your permission, dropreceipts reads workout data from Apple Health and can write workout sessions back to Health. We only access the specific workout data types you authorize. HealthKit data is used solely for app functionality.

What We Explicitly Do NOT Collect

• Keystroke content: We count keys pressed, never what you type
• Screen content: We never capture or record your screen
• Code or text: We never access the content of your files or messages
• Background activity: Activity is only tracked during active sessions

How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used for app functionality only:

• Displaying your sessions, workouts, and tasks
• Syncing your data across devices
• Creating visual receipts of your activities
• Showing workout routes on maps

Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Secure cloud database and authentication
• Mapbox: Map display for workout routes
• Apple HealthKit: Workout data sync (with your permission)
• GitHub API: Usage metadata (if you enable integration)

What We Don't Do

• We don't sell your data to anyone
• We don't show advertisements
• We don't track you across other apps or websites
• We don't share your data with third parties for marketing
• We don't use your data for profiling or targeted advertising

Data Security

• All data encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
• Cloud data encrypted at rest
• Row-level security ensures you only access your own data

Your Rights

You can:

• Delete individual sessions or tasks within the app
• Request a copy of your data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
